Describe the book in your own words: A celebrity is born in the wizard world, but he is raised in the human world.  Harry Potter only knows a world of cobwebs, cupboards, and escaping fists from Dudley Dursley, but one morning, when he gets the mail, he finds a letter addressed to him. Dursley’s dad snatches it from him, but he finally gets that letter. Soon he discovers a better life, a magic school, and friends at Hogwarts, the magic school.

What did you think: I think it was awesome! My favorite parts were when Harry didn’t get in trouble for not following directions in broomstick flying training, getting his own broomstick and getting on a Quidditch team, and going to stop Snape from getting the sorcerer’s stone, but it turns out to be Professor Quirrell.

Who would you recommend it to: Magic, mystery, and action lovers as well as middle school students.
